Last night I was watching a special episode of Antiques Roadshow entitled “Survivors”. The show focused on various items from the show’s history which have each survived the test of time, some under particularly brutal conditions. From a historic chess table that survived Hurricane Katrina’s floodwaters, to two of the stop-motion animation figurines used in Rankin & Bass’s iconic Rudolph The Rednose Reindeer Christmas special — each of these antiques told a truly remarkable story. One of which was an 1830 slave quilt from a 2003 episode of the show. When the appraisal comes in at the conclusion, the owner can barely contain himself. Worth noting is the fact that the appraisal is still the same in 2015.
