ARIEL PINK (a.k.a. Ariel Marcus Rosenberg) was born in Los Angeles in 1978 and released his first album, The Doldrums, in 2004. Since merging with his friend’s band, Haunted Graffiti, they’ve pretty much exploded worldwide. Their music makes me want to wear bell bottoms, grow my hair down to my big shiny belt buckle, and travel through a worm hole all the way back to the summer of ’69. On the heels of their terrific 2010 album Before Today (which features the amazingness that is “Round and Round”) comes their latest offering, Mature Themes. All 13 tracks are nothing short of psychedelic slices of heaven and have been folding time in on itself chez moi ever since I began listening to it a couple days ago. “Only In My Dreams”, “Mature Themes” and “Baby” are a few of my favorite standouts, but you can pick your own when you grab your copy of ARIEL PINK’s must-have Mature Themes on iTunes.
