The European economic crisis is the most serious threat to the global economy since the 2008 crash, but experts are now warning that it may potentially be even worse than the most dire forecasts predicted. This morning I watched the following This Week roundtable and the picture that was painted was so serious I’m still trying to wrap my head around it: Greece will almost certainly default, various European countries will see their GDPs plummet by 40-50% (WTF?!), the Euro’s collapse could trigger worse fallout than the September 2008 collapse, and there’s next to nothing that Washington or China can do to help them. What’s more, America’s top economists are telling Washington that the situation in Europe is so explosive it would be best to back as far away from it as possible, and are beginning to warn Washington that it’s too late to save Europe so the only thing left to do is try and wall-off America from the coming blast as quickly as possible. An absolute must-see. After watching it, I’m left with only one question: “How in the hell did we get here?”
