CNN sat down with two Japanese journalists who risked severe exposure to radiation by entering the evacuation zone around Japan’s melting nuclear plants to capture video of the ghost town of Futaba. As of 2003, the town of Futaba had an estimated population of 7,406 and a total area of 51.40 km². The town is a stone’s throw from Fukushima and an official with Futaba says that 90% of its homes were destroyed in the tsunami. The video these two guys captured is cringe-worthy, filled with images of abandonment, fear, grief and lost hope. And wait until you see what they find near the end of the video.
