Nothing is ever as it seems — even on Easter Island. For more than a century now, archaeologists have been closely studying the giant monolithic head busts (i.e. the Moai) on the volcanic island in Polynesia which were carved between 1100-1680. But what some people might not realize is how 150 of the 900 statutes are buried under landslide earth.
