The travel startup Pack Up + Go is carving a clever new niche in the travel industry. Their website explains their mission: “Do you spend weeks dreaming of weekend getaways? Do you love traveling but loathe planning? Be adventurous. Be spontaneous. Embrace the unknown. Let us plan your 3-day weekend. The catch? Your destination is a surprise.” Simply enter your budget, travel dates, travel preferences, and some traveler info, and the team at Pack Up + Go take care of the rest. A week before you leave you will receive an email with: the weather forecast for your mystery destination; recommended items to pack (i.e. a bathing suit, hiking boots); any luggage size restrictions; where to go and when (i.e. Grand Central Station, Friday at 10:30AM!). Then a few days before your departure date you will get the mystery envelope in the mail — with strict orders not to open it until you get to your transit hub.
