In his terrific exposé of televangelism, John Oliver explains how U.S. tax laws allow these charlatans to thrive. Watching this segment I was struck by two things in particular: 1) how these evangelical corporations are still allowed to get away with this shit at the cost of the U.S. taxpayer, and 2) how in the year 2015 it’s still possible for people to be brainwashed by “religious” leaders who care about one thing and one thing only — money.
