When British theater veteran Matthew Warchus premiered his film PRIDE at this year’s Cannes it instantly received a huge number of ★★★★★ reviews, capturing the hearts of everyone who saw it. Now PRIDE gets to do it all over again when it premieres at TIFF on September 6th. TIFF writes: “Margaret Thatcher’s hard rule over 1980s Britain prompted much political action in response. Perhaps the most amazing response of all occurred when Welsh coal miners and London lesbians and gays found a common cause. ‘PRIDE’ tells the story of that unlikely alliance; it was never obvious, but it sure looks like fun.” PRIDE screens at the Toronto festival on September 6 and 7 and you can pick up your tickets and learn more about the film by visiting TIFF.net. The film stars Bill Nighy and the amazingness that is Academy Award nominee Imelda Staunton.
