If you’re looking for sculptor Ra Paulette, chances are you will find him in the bowels of a New Mexico hillside sculpting away on his newest sandstone creation. Paulette has a passion for carving what he calls “wilderness shrines” inside the sandstone hills of the New Mexico desert, and now the world is finally beginning to take notice. Paulette’s story was even told in the Academy Award-nominated documentary The Cave Digger. CBS Sunday Morning’s Lee Cowan recently paid a visit to Paulette where he is working on his latest shrine and you can watch the profile above. You can also watch the trailer for The Cave Digger below, and be sure to visit CaveDiggerDocumentary.com, as well as Ra’s website at RaCaveDigger.com.
