Nils Frahm almost got me killed. I fell in love with his album SPACES while working on a movie in Vancouver earlier this year, and each morning and night as I drove to work then home again, I would listen to his track “Says” and my driving speed would progressively accelerate as I rode the high of his dramatic composition. The song gave me an added dose of confidence that I could drive far beyond the speed limit, because “Says” carries the powerful ability to hijack your brain and convince it that it’s immune to getting into a car accident. As I zipped through Vancouver’s sci-fi like cityscape I felt like I was in my own real-life TRON. Then afterwards when his achingly beautiful “Over There, It’s Raining” would come on, I would lower my speed and still be equally taken away to Lalaland — albeit a much more melancholic Lalaland. NO FEAR OF POP recently sat down with Nils for a terrific interview and you can read it in full by visiting NOFEAROFPOP.net. And if you don’t yet have your own copy of SPACES you absolutely must pick one up immediately on iTunes, and be sure to visit NilsFrahm.com. Nils is playing Montreal this coming weekend on Sunday, March 23, 2014, and to see if he’s playing a city near you CLICK HERE. You can also follow Nils Frahm on Facebook.
