TYCHO (a.k.a. Scott Hansen) is set to release his brand new album sophomore album Awake on March 18th via his label Ghostly, and he recently sat down with Duncan Cooper of FADER for a terrific interview.  In his opening, Cooper writes: ” ‘Awake’ takes the evocative, pop-ambient synth work that made 2011′s ‘Dive’ feel so oddly spiritual (and drew countless comparisons to Boards of Canada) and refocuses it into a cleaner, sharper post-rock context; it feels like an album that should be broadcast at night over the Grand Canyon.  I spoke to Hansen about growing out of ‘the Instagram approach’ to music producing, making headphone music work live and why he considers this ‘the first true Tycho record.’ ”  You can read the full interview by visiting FADER.com, and for all things TYCHO be sure to visit TYCHOmusic.com, follow him on Facebook, and find your city on his list of international tour dates by CLICKING HERE.  The terrific photo you see above comes courtesy of Reuben Wu and THEONEPOINTEIGHT.
