Director Derek Cianfrance (Blue Valentine) hit the ball straight out of the park earlier this year with his critically acclaimed indie smash hit The Place Beyond The Pines. The film tells the story of a motorcycle stunt rider (Ryan Gosling) who turns to robbing banks as a way to provide for his lover (Eva Mendes) and their newborn child, a decision that puts him on a collision course with an ambitious rookie cop (Bradley Cooper) navigating a department ruled by a corrupt detective. The resulting climax eventually spills over into the next generation in a way that no one could have possibly imagined. Furthermore, the filming of one TPBTB scene in particular also spilled over into millions of people’s fantasies when Gosling strips down to his undies in a deleted prison scene which the folks at OHLALAmag recently discovered.
