Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts is the man behind the terrific 2010 short Successful Alcoholics, and he’s about to release his very first feature film. When The Kings Of Summer debuted at Sundance this past January it instantly became the smash hit comedy of the festival, and the brilliant reviews continue to roll in — many of which are pegging this as the “funniest film of the year”. The film tracks three teenage buddies who, in the ultimate act of independence, decide to spend their summer building a house in the woods and living off the land. With one look at the brand new Funny Or Die trailer below (Vogt-Roberts directed many shorts for Funny or Die through the years), you will see that much of their angst is due to their overbearing parents, including Megan Mullally (Will & Grace) and Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation). I’ll be the first in line when The Kings Of Summer hits theatres on May 31st. I’ve also included the film’s terrific first trailer below, as well as Vogt-Roberts’ 2010 short film Successful Alcoholics.
