The Coen Brothers’ latest film Inside Llewyn Davis makes its Cannes debut next week, and the film also was given with its very first trailer recently. Strangely enough the trailer is red band — typically reserved for films with lewd profanity or extreme violence, yet the only show of force in this film’s red band trailer is Carey Mulligan screaming “asshole” and making a long-winded riff on condoms. Indiewire writes: “The gorgeous-looking drama centers on an aspiring singer-songwriter (Oscar Isaac) who navigates the 1960s folk-music scene in New York City’s Greenwich Village. T Bone Burnett produced the film’s soundtrack, which includes music performed by, among others, Isaac, Marcus Mumford and Justin Timberlake.” Inside Llewyn Davis opens in theatres later this year.
