They’re one of the most reclusive and secretive acts in music, so over the course of the next few months fans of DAFT PUNK will be enjoying the onslaught of promotion for the duo’s upcoming album Random Access Memories in much the same way someone stranded in the desert would inhale a barrel of fresh water. For months now rumours of DAFT PUNK’s hypothetical world tour have consistently been shot down immediately by anyone close to the group — including that supposed appearance at this year’s Coachella Music Festival in Palm Springs in April. A resounding “no way in hell” is what insiders consistently shouted — even though the band was reportedly offered a shit load of money. Well, as FACT just reported a few minutes ago, DAFT PUNK’s Vevo page was just updated today with a scheduled performance at Coachella on Friday April 12th. No one can say for sure yet if this is legit, but judging from the fact that it is still on the site, I’m guessing this might be the real deal (NOTE: the performance is nowhere to be seen on Coachella’s website). Just in case, I took a screen capture of the page in case it gets taken down. You can check out their Vevo page HERE. The most highly anticipated album of the year, Random Access Memories, is set for release in May.
