One of the best concerts I’ve had the fortune of attending in recent years was here in Montreal for BEACH HOUSE‘s tour of their phenomenal album Teen Dream. Sadly, for some reason, I never made it to their recent show for their equally brilliant album Bloom, and it’s a mistake I will probably never forgive myself for. Bloom was one of my top three most favorite albums of 2012, and it’s the gift that keeps on giving. Earlier today the band released the brand new video for their song “Wishes” directed by Eric Warheim (Tim And Eric) and it’s as good as it gets as far as I’m concerned. Remember that scene in Stanley Kubrick’s horror masterpiece The Shining, where the man in the bear suit is giving head to the old man waiter? Well, it certainly would have fit right in for “Wishes”, and with an added flair of David Lynch, the video stars none other than Ray Wise of Twin Peaks fame.
