Ever since I discovered Chad Valley‘s (i.e. Hugo Manuel) unforgettably gorgeous song “Now That I’m Real”, I’ve had a special place in my heart reserved especially for him. Last year I got the chance to see him open for Active Child here in Montreal and he was absolutely terrific — and considering the fact that the drunk tech guy in charge of the soundboard was fucking up so badly, Chad Valley’s talent as a singer managed to stand out in spite of any technical difficulties that went down that night.
