That does it. I’m moving to Portland, Oregon. Why? Because there’s so much amazing creative talent coming out of that city in recent years I’m starting to think there’s something magical in the water or the air over there. The latest addition to Portland’s string of perfection is UNKNOWN MORTAL ORCHESTRA who just released the second single “So Good At Being In Trouble” off their brand new upcoming album II which is set for release on February 5th via JagJaguwar. It’s so damn good I’ll be the first in line when they come to Montreal on March 3rd. For a full list of UMO’s tour dates CLICK HERE, and to enter the mother ship you can head over to UNKNOWNMORTALORCHESTRA.com. You can also follow them on Facebook and pick up your own copy of II on iTunes. And while we’re on the topic of Portland, the other day at work while listening to my music on shuffle, Washed Out’s “Feel It All Around” popped up and a girl sitting near me turned and asked, “Hey, isn’t that the theme song from ‘PORTLANDIA‘?” Sure enough, I checked and yes indeed it is. It’s so weird to see that song being played on TV! Yet, at the same time, it feels so right all around in many ways.
