On my way home after work today I found myself listening to Pantha du Prince (i.e. Berlin-based minimal techno wizard Hendrik Weber) and was reminded once again how much I love him soooooo. Then within minutes of getting home I came across his brand new song “Spectral Light”, which is the first single off his brand new collaborative album with The Bell Laboratory (a group of Norwegian musicians who focus on ringing percussive instruments like bells and marimba) entitled Elements Of Light. You can check out the brand new video below which not only features the song itself, but also gives a glimpse of the mechanics of the bells used in the recording of the album. To stream the album in full simply head over to NPR.org. And this evening I was also charmed by Toronto-based band BELIEFS and their single “Violets” from their 2012 album which their UK label NO PAIN IN POP just posted earlier today with the words “Prepping BELIEFS LP for 2013.” Looks like we’ll have a lot more goodness to believe in very soon.
Pantha Du Prince & The Bell Laboratory’s Brilliant “Spectral Split” Might Generate BELIEFS In “Violets”
