I’ve been a longtime fan of TLC’s WHAT NOT TO WEAR, and as the darling of reality television kicks off its 10th season this coming Thursday, January 3rd at 10pm, hosts Stacy London and Clinton Kelly have a few surprises up their well-styled sleeves.  In an early December press release, producers revealed that the season premiere will feature 80s pop star Tiffany who nominated herself for a top-to-bottom makeover.

The show will also help out some other familiar names from the not-so-distant television past including Tina Yothers, Shannon Elizabeth, and Nicole Eggert.  TV By The Numbers writes: “Other contributors in need of drastic wardrobe overhauls include Simona – an overachieving scientist who needs to ditch her comfortable duds, Tristen – a New Yorker but self-proclaimed Jersey girl whose skimpy outfits are getting in the way of her finding a quality man and a promising career, and Casey – a transsexual who has been living as a woman for the past nine years, but has yet to find the wardrobe that reflects the confident, happy woman that she has become.”

WHAT NOT TO WEAR is TLC’s longest-running primetime series, and has been a consistent ratings powerhouse.  The show premiered in 2003 and is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. Host Stacy London (born May 25, 1969) began her career as a fashion assistant at VOGUE magazine and later became the senior fashion editor at Mademoiselle.  In addition to her hosting duties and numerous endorsements, London and business partner Cindy McLaughlin co-founded Style for Hire — an online service that matches people with personal stylists that live in their area.  The goal of the online agency is to bring personal styling services to average income people.

Clinton Kelly (born February 22, 1969) began his career as a freelance writer and editor at several publications in New York.  Kelly was an editor at Marie Claire and a deputy editor at Mademoiselle, where he contributed under the pseudonym “Joe L’Amour”.  He later became the executive editor of the Daily News Record, a New York-based weekly men’s fashion and retail trade magazine, before he began work on WHAT NOT TO WEAR.  To enter the mother ship simply head over to TLC, and be sure to follow the show on Facebook.
