Bobby Mackey’s Music World is a nightclub and honky tonk that is currently owned by country singer Bobby Mackey and located on 44 Licking Pike in Wilder, Kentucky. Situated about 3 miles (4.8 km) south of Cincinnati, Ohio near the Licking River, the building is one of the top 3 most investigated locations in the United States for paranormal activity. But the evidence and disturbing encounters gathered inside this building (it was originally used as a slaughterhouse when it was built at the beginning of the 1800s) have earned it its reputation as one of the most dangerous paranormal locations in the world.
Time after time over the course of nearly 30 years, investigators have endured burning triad scratches (a hallmark of a strong demonic presence), possession, stronger than normal physical assaults, and perhaps the most unwelcome of all paranormal encounters — a presence that sticks to visitors and follows them home. One team which is all too familiar with the sinister forces in the basement of Bobby Mackey’s Music World is the crew of Ghost Adventures, one of the most watched paranormal shows on television. Host Zak Bagans, and fellow investigators Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin, have each been vocal over the past few years that whatever it was they encountered at BMMW during the show’s very first episode in October 2008 did indeed follow them home.
In an unusually candid moment during the crew’s second visit to the location in October 2010 (episode #29, season 4) Goodwin opened up to viewers that whatever it was that followed him home after their first trip was so intense that it led to him and his wife separating. Bagans, who by anyone’s standards has a tank of a body, also revealed that while sleeping one night in his Las Vegas home he was pulled out of his bed by the ankles by an invisible entity. All three admit that their lives were forever changed after their first visit to BMMW, but the location is such a hotspot that they felt they had no choice but to return to the nightclub for a second investigation two years later. You can watch both episodes below. For all things Ghost Adventures you can visit their website, and follow the show on Facebook and Twitter. You can also follow host Zak Bagans on Twitter as well.
