This past April, Rufus Wainwright released his highly anticipated new pop album Out Of The Game which was produced by genius producer Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse, Back To Black). Reviews have been consistently amazing for the album, and if that’s not enough, Rufus is marrying his longtime beau, German-born theatre producer Jorn Weisbrodt, on Thursday in Montauk, Long Island. Sources told the New York Post that Yoko Ono and Carrie Fisher are both due to attend the wedding, along with around 250 friends and family. Guests will be treated to a lunch of champagne and lobster rolls at a local restaurant before heading to Montauk’s Shagwong Restaurant — which Rufus once described as being “filthy and smelly and, once again, sexy” — for a reception which is expected to go on until 4am. Rufus is likely going to sing at the party along with a number of other live performers instead of a DJ. Yup, I would pretty much give my left nut to be there. There’s still time for an invite, so fingers crossed. Congrats Rufus!!! And no Rufus Wainwright post would be complete without including my favorite Rufus song of all time — the amazingness that is “Poses”.
