Architects Saad El Kabbaj, Driss Kettani and Mohamed Amine Siana are the brains behind the stunning new Technology School of Guelmim in Morocco (see where Guelmim, Morocco is in Google Maps). The mandate for the design was to create a campus clearly directed towards the future, while serving as a love letter to the nation’s architectural heritage as well. The cladding provides a poetic reflection towards the Moroccan earth, while the overall design plan and detailing signals a strong yet elegant focus on linearity and symmetry. The earth-toned exterior contrasts the modern white interiors, providing a subtle yet powerful connection between past vs. future, and outside vs. inside. It’s truly an impressive project, and you can see more terrific photos of the Technology School of Guelmim by visiting Yatzer.
