Soffie Viemose is a Danish singer, songwriter and producer best known for her hypnotic, nordic style of atmospheric electronica. Earlier today I came across her stunning brand new single “To The Woods” which is, in fact, the very first single from her debut full length album set for release this coming September (you can pick up your own copy via iTunes). Apart from the amazingness of the song itself, the accompanying video is something to behold as well. Directed by Christina Amundsen, the viewer is taken on a journey through a dark forest alongside a young boy who encounters a mysterious stranger/wizard deep in the middle of the trees. The engineering of the sound mixed with the atmosphere of the video leans toward the world of James Blake, and Viemose’s incredible vocals evoke memories of PORTISHEAD at her very best.
