New research out of Australia’s University of Adelaide has led to the discovery of a pill that effectively shuts down the effects of alcohol on the brain. Currently undergoing testing on lab rats, the pill is showing some extraordinarily impressive results in that the mice did not become drunk after being pumped full of alcohol (i.e. incredibly enough its motor skills were A-OK). The pill could be available in as little as three to four years, and its discovery could open the doors to finding new medication to treat everything from drug addiction to pain relief.
