Homes are machines for making our lives richer and more fulfilling, and when done well, a strong home design can make all the difference in our pursuit of happiness. Which is why one of my first thoughts when I saw these images of “Casa Cher” located in the forest of Mar Azul, Argentina, was how happy I would be if it was my casa cher. Designed by BAK Architects, Casa Cher is a vacation home for a couple and their two teenage kids, and measures 1,130 square feet. One of the clients’ number one demands was a seamless integration of the house into the landscape, and there is no denying they got their wish come true (check out how brilliantly the horizontality of the poured concrete matches the verticality of the trees with regards to both color and texture). Maybe someday when I meet my Argentinian sugar daddy we can build our own Casa Cher in the forests of Mar Azul as well.
