I caught the NBC Nightly News last night and saw the following report on the explosion of beauty currently on display in Yosemite National Park. An epic snowfall this past winter has combined with intense spring sunshine that is melting the snow at twice its normal rate. As a result, Yosemite’s numerous waterfalls are gushing with white, angelic mist. The largest fall in the park, at Yosemite Falls, is the tallest falls in North America (and fifth tallest in the world). The falls drop 2,425 feet to the valley floorr with the Upper Fall plunging 1,430 feet to connect with the 320-foot Lower Fall by a 675-foot cascade. I will never forget my trip to Yosemite back in 2001 when my friends and I climbed the Half Dome. The view was out of this world, even in the dry season, so I can imagine that being at Yosemite right now must be a full-on spiritual experience.
