Leonardo da Vinci once said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” And General Electric’s latest public relations stint to bolster their We No Longer Want To Rape Mother Nature stance is as beautiful as it is contrived. Even if it is part of some slick Michael Clayton-style self promotional trick I still found it fascinating how something so simple can be so compelling: all they did was take a hydrogen and helium-filled balloon and set it on fire.  Surrounding this balloon is a series of “Matrix”-style cameras to record the explosion in 360 degrees. Too bad they couldn’t get a few small ping pong balls to spin around it in orbit.
