They are two of the greatest directors alive, and some interesting details are beginning to emerge on their respective projects thanks to French actress Mélanie Thierry.  As The Playlist reported earlier this morning, Thierry revealed some incredible new details about two of her upcoming films in a recent interview with Le Petit Journal.

Thierry told LPJ, “I’ll have two big films. The new film by Denys Arcand, who I love. A film on four seasons, shot in real time. And I just signed for the new Terry Gilliam!  It should be called ‘Zero Theorem,’ with Christoph Waltz and Tilda Swinton.  I have a great part, a girl completely crazy and funny.  It will be great fun to play this chick.  I started the coaching and the shoot begins in November.  I went back to the English lessons, because my English must be perfect, though Gilliam says he likes my ‘frenchness’! It will be a wonderful experience.”

As The Playlist writes: “There’s no exact word on who Thierry will play, we’re guessing it’s Bainsley the ‘lusty love interest’ who distracts the cloistered monk Leth (Waltz) from his work at solving the theorem that will find the meaning of human existence. We’d take a guess that Swinton works for Management who are trying to keep Leth from cracking the code. Either way, Swinton in anything means we’ll watch it.” You can get more details on these two films (including a chapel, a whole lot of nudity, and Denys Arcand himself) by visiting The Playlist.  Looks like Ms. Thierry is about to be Hollywood’s next big It Girl!

And on a personal note, a couple weeks ago (and the second time this year) I happened to catch Arcand’s mindblowing film Les Invasions Barbares (The Barbarian Invasions) on television, and pretty much balled my eyes out.  AGAIN.  It’s one of my top 5 all-time favorite films and if you haven’t yet seen it you now know what you’re going to be doing this weekend.
