I’m a bit late to the table with Bibio‘s most recent album Mind Bokeh which was released all the way back in April 2011. Which is my loss because I pretty much wore out his previous 2009 album Ambivalence Avenue — one of the best albums of the year. But it’s never too late to fall in love, which is why I can’t stop listening to the phenomenal title track off Mind Bokeh, a masterful looping piece of brilliance, dripping in Bibio’s signature tranquilizing atmosphere. Adding to the effect is this A+ fan-made video I just found which combines the track with footage from the 1979 cult classic film The Warriors, about the gang turf wars of New York City which culminates in a scene on Coney Island. The prom trio stare-down on the subway is taken to a whole new level thanks to Bibio, but the real scene stealer is the stunning beauty of actress Deborah Gaye Van Valkenburgh who plays Mercy. To grab your own copy of Mind Bokeh simply head over to iTunes. For all things Bibio be sure to follow him on Facebook, MySpace, LastFM, Twitter, and Tumblr.
