Scott over at ISO50 posted this outstanding song from Austin-based band White Denim entitled “Street Joy” and it’s completely knocked me over into a place of teenage nostalgia. Directed by Carlos LaRotta (Downtown Music), the video uses a mix of found prom footage (from what can’t be any later than 1982) and recent footage of the band members that’s been treated to match the VHS quality of the existing. The song itself is pretty much perfect, and with each and every listen it’s been making me more and more emotional to be honest, especially with the guitar riff at the 1:51 mark — which I’m guessing is a gesture of love to Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side Of The Moon“. For all things White Denim be sure to follow them on Facebook, MySpace, LastFm, and their website at WhiteDenimMusic.com. You can pick up your own copy of their latest album “D“ by visiting iTunes.
