Last night was one of the most incredible live shows I’ve seen in ages. Chad Valley and Com Truise opened for Active Child who is in the middle of an absolute must-see world tour which is wrapping up on October 30th, so if you they’re coming to your city please do yourself an enormous favor and get yourself some tickets ASAP. Chad Valley (a.k.a. Hugo Manuel) opened first and if I didn’t love him to pieces before, well, now I’m truly smitten. When he played “Now That I’m Real” I pretty much turned into a kid in a candy store on the dance floor (you can read this NYLON Magazine profile of Chad Valley HERE). Com Truise (i.e. Seth Haley) is not only producing some of the most incredibly addictive tracks in electronic music today, he’s just about the sweetest guy I’ve ever met (read the BBC’s glowing review of his latest album HERE). And to call Active Child’s (i.e. Pat Grossi) performance “revelatory” would be a huge understatment. Seeing him perform live cemented my belief that he is one of the top three most talented musicians to break out in 2011. His latest album You Are All I See is easily one of the very best of the year — if not the best. For all FEELguide posts related to amazingness that is Active Child CLICK HERE.
