Artist Leandro Erlich created this trippy art installation for the 21st Century Museum of Art in Kanazawa, Japan. The design of this swimming pool optical illusion centers on the 5″ layer of water on top which is suspended flat at water level by a piece of transparent glass. Below the glass is an aquamarine room which gives the impression not only that there are people walking on the bottom if you find yourself up top, but also that you actually are underwater when you’re walking around below glass level. The pool is approximately 9′ x 13′ x 22′. To learn more about the artist be sure to visit his website at LeandroErlich.com.
